Synopsis

 Standard SAP “Shelf Life” functionality in all ECC & S/4 HANA versions:
 In cryogenics, cryotherapeutics and cryopreservation processes, it is typical to
maintain shelf life in Date+HH:MM:SS or in Timestamp formats,
 Shelf Life is managed in hours
 Production/Manufactured On:
 Date+time+timezone  May 21,2021 14:32:19 EST
 Timestamp (in UTC timezone)  20,210,521,183,219
 Shelf Life Expiration Time (e.g. 48 hours from time of manufacture):
 Date+time+timezone  May 23,2021 14:32:19 EST
( C ) 
 Timestamp (in UTC timezone)  20,210,523,183,219
 In SAP ERP, Batch Management allows for maintaining Material Batch specific Shelf
Life properties:
P d ti / M f t i D t
 Production / Manufacturing Date
 Goods Receipt Date
 Shelf Life Expiration Date
 Use by/Restricted Use Date (e g : ‘Date field 6’ could be use as use by date)

 Use-by/Restricted Use Date (e.g.: Date field 6 could be use as use-by date)
 In SAP ERP, Shelf Life properties cannot be managed at a time unit lower than a
day

 Standard SAP “Shelf Life” functionality in all ECC & S/4 HANA versions:
 In SAP Batch Master, there are no fields for the following:
 Production / Manufacturing Time in HH:MM:SS
 Production / Manufacturing Timestamp in UTC
 Expiration Time in HH:MM:SS
 Expiration Timestamp in UTC
 During goods receipt in SAP ERP, there is no ability to specify the following:
 Production / Manufacturing Time in HH:MM:SS
 Expiration Time in HH:MM:SS
‘ S ’
 During goods receipt in ‘Embedded SAP EWM’, there exists an ability to maintain
production date+time, and expiration date+time, but the production time and
expiration time is NOT retained in the Batch Master

 In SAP ERP, Batch determination does not provide an ability to:
 Maintain condition records with remaining shelf life time in seconds
 Determine Batches based on remaining shelf life time in seconds
 Determine Batches based on expiration timestamp
