How We Are Using GlassFish

    •  GlassFish v2-3.1 was used in the vast majority of my Java EE
       projects.
    •  We started with GF v1, now v2.1 and 3.1.1
    •  Overall experience
             –  Good support, nice community, stable technology, open-minded engineers

What Worked

    •  Java EE is the most productive, simple and efficient platform you can
currently get and GlassFish is an important enabler (a commercially
       usable RI)
    •  Favorites:
             –       IDE (NetBeans) integration
             –       Lightweightness + small footprint (deployment)
             –       Zero Installation or 5 minute installation (with IDE!)
             –       DevOps compatible (CI and Continuous Deployment)
             –       Extensive Monitoring
             –       Multi-Channel Administration
             –       Reference Implementation / Extensive Documentation

How We Can Make it Better

    •  More focus on continuous deployment and operations
    •  Continuous Improvement of performance and efficiency
    •  Features we would like to see
             –  Complete REST-Administration (deployment of libraries and drivers)
             –  Rolling Updates and more 24*7 features
             –  GlassFish in the clouds (e.g. on ExaLogic J)
             –  Visual VM Plugins
