COURSE REQUIREMENTS Total Insight Lean Certification Candidates should plan to complete their certification over the course of three months and must meet the following requirements: Must be willing and have the budget to travel to off-site training activities. Must complete reading requirements. Must participate in three weeks of instructor-led workshops with training and simulations. Must have the ability to participate in a Kaizen event at a dedicated facility with Total Insight Mentor. Must complete the final exam, project presentation, and attend the graduation ceremony to be awarded a “Total Insight Lean Certification Diploma.” WHO SHOULD ATTEND Total Insight suggests that Lean Certification Candidates have a background in operations along with interpersonal skills for maximum group effectiveness. Candidates should be confident, proficient, have strong problem solving skills, and leadership skills. - 4. Session I: This session will take a deep dive into the history of Lean Manufacturing, by using case studies of companies that have implemented and sustained Lean. To become successful at implementation, the basic fundamentals must be understood. This session will teach and increase skills with the use of factory and office simulations. Value Stream Mapping will be taught in a classroom environment and will include a mapping homework assignment to be done at student’s current employer. While working together as a team in a 3-day Kaizen event at a local manufacturing facility, we will execute the principles learned.
