- 5. User Goals and Needs People do not “surf” on their phones. They do not browse. They are looking for what they need. Start out with what library patrons want to find , not search for.

- 8. Tech Stuff Based on OSU’s findings we decided NOT to use cascade stylesheets to display our current webpages as mobile. Not all mobile browsers adhere to the W3C specifications to use the handheld media type to link to mobile stylesheets. To detect hand held devices we used PHP to detect the device type reading the UserAgent string. Like OSU Libraries, we use reverse detection, to detect if a user is not on a mobile device because there are a smaller number of desktop operating systems.
