good fit for you
 LinkedIn is the largest professional networking site
 that has over 200 million users in 200 different
 countries
 87% of its users trust LinkedIn as a source of decision
 making
 57% of people talk more to others online than in real
 life
-Why bother?

Now more than ever it is important to make business
connections in order to create better business realationships

LinkedIn creates a place where you can start networking with
others, businesses can search for new taltent, post jobs, and
promote upcoming events

Business cards are old news– Now there is a better way of
keeping your connections and creating lasting relationships!
How to get started

                     LinkedIn begins like
                     most online social
                     medias
                     Start with putting in
                     your first and last
                     name then add your
                     email and create a
                     password
Create your Profile

Your Profile consists of
  A profile picture
  Summary of yourself
  Past positions
  Education
  Skills
  Your current position with a description
  Your contacts and connections
  Industry and postal code

Completing your profile is a very important step because that will be
your future employers first view as to who you are and what skills and
training you have. This will also increase your chances of appearing in
the LinkedIn search results.

            When you finish
            creating your profile
            the LinkedIn Home
            Page allows for an
            easy search for:
             new job
            postings, people you
            may
            know, groups, conta
            cts, news, companie
            s, and many more.
Making Contacts

  Start by making connections with people you know. In the
  beginning of making your profile you will be asked to sync
  with existing contacts through other media sites such as
  email, facebook, and twitter.
  Use the search box at the upper right-hand corner of the
  front page
  Add former colleagues, alumni, friends, and other
  important contacts
  People you may know: your contacts come from either a 1st
  degree connection (people your are already connected
  with), 2nd degree connections (other friends direct
  contacts), 3rd degree connections (friends of friends), or
  through group connections (organizations, alumni, etc.
Status Updates

Instead of using status updates to inform other of
what your are doing socially, use them to inform
others that you are a subject expert
Posting frequently allows you to increase
engagement
Post and share links, events, topics and statistics
Posts should be industry related and professional
Mobile LinkedIn




 Install the LinkedIn app on your Android or Iphone
 for easy, mobile, and fast use.

 Install the Card Munch app, which allows you to take
 pictures of business cards you currently have and
 upload them to linkedIn
LinkedIn and Agriculture: A Personal
               Story


  For many years I struggled with how I was going to fit in
  the agriculture industry as a young professional. Many
  people today have misconceptions about the industry
  thinking that the only job opportunities out there only
  includes farming and food production.
  LinkedIn provides a way for people searching for jobs in
  agriculture to find jobs in their field of study.
   Agriculture is the largest industry in our country providing
  over 22 million people with employment, with over 200
  different jobs.
