CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is an educational approach that teaches academic content through the medium of a foreign language with the goals of improving foreign language skills and learning in a collaborative way. Potential strengths are that it can improve foreign language levels and teach new types of vocabulary, while weaknesses include teachers and students having low foreign language levels and the high cost of training teachers in CLIL methods. Opportunities are that CLIL helps increase language levels and prepares students for studying or working abroad, while threats are that it could lower comprehension of the subject content being taught in a foreign language that students do not fully control.
