- 5. INTRODUCTION OF MPEG-7 MPEG-7 is actually a standard developed by “moving picture experts group” in 2001. MPEG-7 is a multimedia content description standard. It was standardized in ISO/IEC/15938(multimedia content description interface)
- 6. MPEG-7 is formally called Multimedia content description interface. MPEG-7 is the standard that describes multimedia content so users can search, browse & retrieve that content more efficiently & effectively.

SCOPE OF MPEG-7 The description generation (feature extraction, indexing process, annotation & authoring tools etc) & consumption (search engine, filtering tool, retrieval process, browsing device etc) are non normative parts of MPEG-7. The goal is to define the minimum that enables interoperability.
- 10. MPEG-7 TOOLS Descriptor (D):-representations of features, that define the syntax & the semantics of each feature representation (low level) Description schemes (DS):-that specify the structure & semantics of the relationship between their components, which may be both DS &DSs.
- 11. MPEG-7 TOOLS Description definition language(DDL):-based on XML schema to allow the creation of new DSs & DS & to allow the extension & modification of existing DSs. System tools:- these tools deal with binarization, synchronization transport & storage of descriptors. it also deals with intellectual property protection.
