This document provides an interim report on UK adults' media literacy based on data from spring 2009. Key findings include:
- Household take-up of digital TV, the internet, and mobile phone use have increased significantly since 2007.
- Communication is still the most common internet activity, but content creation and entertainment have increased considerably.
- Awareness of how the BBC is funded has declined for some services since 2007.
- Concerns about content on the internet and TV have decreased since 2007 but remain the top concerns.
- Reading instructions is still the most preferred way to learn about digital technology, followed by learning online.
