Oodles of Googles Googles Tools that make Collaboration Easy!
Summary Several Google Tools are shared which make Collaboration fun and Simple: Notebook Application – Photographs, clip art, URLs, text, etc. are placed in a digital notebook to be shared with others. Notebook content can be converted into a Google  document to be shared by other educators or students  who can view, use, or edit the information. Google Slides – Powerpoints are created, shared, viewed within the browser. Useful for group member collaboration by making   discussions available to be archived. Users may view and edit documents in real time.
Personal Gains I was unaware of these Google applications until I attended this conference session I learned how helpful this specific sort of application can be when it is used by members of a group to share a document , view a document, and/or edit a document within a group. Students can share their documents with other students using Google tools. I will be able to share documents with my students using Google tools.  This is an excellent tool for presenting information to same-discipline colleagues at my school as well as those around the country.
Applications This would be a good way to monitor my students’ progress with a Google documents online project. As long as I was a member of each group, I could check on day to day progress, and be sure everyone is on track.  This tool allows students to share ideas with non-group members of the class during the creation process of a presentation.  I think this would be a great way to share lesson plan –type information with my art teacher friends in other schools.
Questions This is a great way to share documents with a group, particularly in a classroom. I am concerned that students using this tool will edit and redo each others’ information at different times, and the effect will be a somewhat disjointed presentation.  I wonder if students editing at home, or anywhere outside of a classroom/lab session might have difficulty coming to some sort of resolution regarding the extent of editing in order to include everyone’s contributions.
