Perception is the process by which people select, organize and interpret information through their senses to form meaningful understandings of the world. The perceptual process involves observing environmental stimuli, selectively attending to some inputs while ignoring others, organizing stimuli into patterns, interpreting what is observed, and determining a response. Perception can be influenced by both external factors like size, contrast or novelty as well as internal factors like personality, learning, and motivation. A student's perception of themselves and situations can impact their emotions, attitudes, learning, and personality.
