My Personal Reflection on “A Framework for Technology Education Curricula Which Emphasizes Intellectual Processes” I thought that this article was very interesting and it had a lot of good information. I agree that in order for students to learn more and achieve more, they need to have an effective curriculum. I think that all the core skills that they mention are very critical skills and I think that it is great to have a curriculum based on those skills. The article also mentions that technology education is needed in the curriculum to help students achieve more when they leave school and are in the real world. I think this is a great viewpoint. Technology is changing more and more every day and teachers need to prepare their students for those changes. A curriculum with core skills and technology education is needed and would really make a big impact on the students learning.

It tells teachers ways to integrate technology, but It states that there are certain ways that are more effective than others. There are long ways to understanding methods of effective practice with respect to the various impacts of these activities on teaching and learning. It states that “we need to move to a more systematic study of how technology integration occurs within our schools, what increases its adoption by teachers, and the long-term impacts that these investments have on both teachers and students”. This article helps teacher understand what is important for the students and what is most effective. It states that in order for teachers to integrate technology effectively that they need to keep up with the changes of technology.
This article is also about how standards for teachers are changing. It states that the qualifications for teachers are becoming higher in the technology aspect. Teachers need to have experience to give the students experience. The article explains that if the teachers are aware of the changes in technology that they will be able to have a bigger impact on the students. It discusses that the higher qualifications are creating a shortage in the U.S. schools because it is harder to find teachers with the higher standards. My Personal Reflection on “Professional Development in Integrating Technology into Teaching and Learning: Knowns, Unknowns, and Ways to Pursue Better Questions and Answers”This article had a lot of great topics and I completely agree with them. I think that it is great to raise the standards for teachers because I think it would be better for the students if they had higher qualified teachers. I think it is smart to know different ways to integrated technology into the classroom and I think that it would help if teachers knew more ways to do it. I also think that the more experience that the teachers have the more experience that the students will get. Like the article says, I think it would have a much bigger impact. It states that schools need to prepare a curriculum that can prepare students for the vastly changing technology. This article states that “many Americans find today's rapidly changing world a bewildering and alien place to live and to work as they intentionally, or unintentionally, recoil from the technical means upon which they must rely and try to cope and adapt” (Bensen, 1991). It examines how the United States is failing in its attempt to educate and prepare our youth. It states that we need to have a curriculum that does prepare them and also prepares teachers. It states that a technology education teacher preparation curriculum should include the latest advances in technology so that it does prepare them.

  • 15. My Personal Reflection on “Technology Education: Prospectus for Curriculum Change”I thought that this article pointed out some very good ideas. I think it is very necessary to have the preparation for teachers include technology programs or classes. I think that the teachers need to be prepared to prepare the students. Similar to the other articles, the teachers need to have higher qualifications for the benefit of the student. I love that this article not only discusses about a change in a student’s curriculum, but also a change in the teachers’ curriculum. I completely agree that in order for our students to learn more and achieve more, that the teachers must also be aware and prepared to teach them. They need to know about the changes in technology so that they have a bigger impact on the students.
  • 16. Concluding Thoughts So what does it take to integrate technology into the classroom? Overall, in order for technology to be integrated into the classroom effectively, schools need to have a strong curriculum with core skills for the students. Also, schools need to have higher standards/qualifications for teachers so that they can provide the students with more experience. Teachers need to have a curriculum of their own that includes technology so that they can have the experience needed to help the students achieve more.
