1 - An API for Data:
Primeur Ghibli Next™
Integration Platform
As enterprises shift from an application economy to
an API economy, the need to connect applications and
data becomes increasingly important. With workloads
shifting from traditional data center to cloud and
back, IT is often charged with managing a broad range
of data stores, including ERP, CRM, and other line-of-
business application data that was developed – and
exists – in multiple siloes.
Additionally, every organization is experiencing a
data deluge, as the volume and variety of digital
information continues to increase, putting new
pressure on organizations to extract actionable value
out of the flow of data, and to find ways to integrate the
continually growing number of business applications
with the disparate data stores.
Because applications and users who benefit by
consuming data are not necessarily those who are
creating the data, there is a need to match data
producer to consumer, which can be an arduous task.
For these reasons, Primeur has developed the Primeur
Ghibli Next™ Integration Platform, which can be
thought of as exposing an API not for code but for data.
The past decade has brought increasing levels of
complexity to information systems. Heterogeneous
platforms are now the norm, and hybrid IT
environments including on-premises, private, and
public cloud components are only further complicated
by emerging tech including the internet of things
(IoT), social marketing, and multichannel customer
interfaces. As a result, businesses are challenged to
not only integrate data from various sources, but
to facilitate the exchange of data between different
systems and applications regardless of the frequency
when it is created or when it is accessed.
The emergence of big data and predictive analytics
requires that business decision-makers have all
possible information sources to improve accuracy
of their forecasts and help steer the business in the

integration with a modular approach that eliminates
the need to rip-and-replace existing integrations
or tools. This lets organizations upgrade their
existing architecture in an evolutionary manner,
providing continual stability even as applications
and infrastructure change over time.
Primeur Ghibli Next™ utilizes a publish-and-subscribe
model to enable users and applications of all kinds
to either contribute data to, or access data from, a
central view of all enterprise information, without
the need to make a single change to any application.
Primeur Ghibli Next™ integrates data governance,
data manipulation, transport and connectivity
tools, delivering a seamless integration platform
for all file and object data.
Primeur Ghibli Next™ decouples data producers and
consumers, enabling publishers to contribute content
withoutanyknowledgeofwhotheusersorsubscribers
are, or even how many users and applications are
subscribing to their data. Likewise, subscribers
(applications or users) simply express an interest In
one or more data sets in the repository (known as a
DataBox), and need only access the information that
is of interest to them, without needing to know which
applications or users published that data.
right direction. This is increasingly difficult as new
applications are continually added into the enterprise
mix, requiring new data correlations between this
ever-growing pool of applications. The challenge for
IT professionals is to deliver this data integration
on-demand, without incurring high costs to do so.
What is needed is an integration platform that
works with existing applications, data stores and
tools to expose a simple uniform data interface
for all applications, hiding the complexity and
heterogeneity to enable simplified orchestration
of a broad range of systems. This is what led to the
development of the Primeur Ghibli Next™ Integration
Platform.

Ghibli Next™?

The major components of Primeur Ghibli Next™ are:
• Input Connector – accepts data from ‘producer’
applications data storage, performs any pre-
processing defined by the producer application’s
template, and places the result into the Primeur
Ghibli Next™ “DataBox”. There is a significant
number of pre-defined connectors for integration
with some of the most popular applications
including SAP, Salesforce, NetSuite and Amazon
AWS to name a few.
• Databox – Manages all information related to any
object in the Primeur Ghibli Next™ platform (file,
message, etc.). Maintains attributes for each data
item such as format, compression/encryption,
EOF/LF conversions, workflow processing events,
and data management including retention, cloud
archiving, storage devices, etc.
Objects in the DataBox are never duplicated,
but multiple databoxes (with their own unique
processing and retention requirements) can be
associated with an object. The enables re-use and
visibility of any given data amongst different users
or applications without data duplication.
• Mediator – Performs required operations
on DataBox objects to prepare for use by the
‘consumer’ application or user. This can include
mapping file formats (flat, CSV, XLSX, etc),
transforming data between different formats,
aggregating data (any to any) from different
sources, split a file into multiple files, and if
necessary transports data to a remote DataBox.
• Output Connector – Retrieves data from
DataBox, performs any post-processing necessary
and inserts the result directly into the data store
for the consumer application – without the need
for any code modifications on either end.

4 - Why Primeur
Ghibli Next™?
5 - Why is it a
“Platform”?
Primeur Ghibli Next™ simply allows integration of
data from different applications without making
any changes to the applications that create or
utilize the data. This enables asynchronous data
movement between synchronous applications, since
each application contributes data during its normal
cycle, and consuming applications access data from
a DataBox when needed. Data in anonomyized, as
users and applications that create data are unaware
of users and applications that consume data.
Primeur Ghibli Next™ is an open platform that
integrates with third party tools already in use,
and simplifies the data integration process,
ultimately minimizing the cost and time involved
in ensuring businesses are gaining the greatest
possible value from all their data by making it
available to the broadest number of users and
applications.
Support for a broad range of heterogenous
technologies yields a single platform that delivers
end-to-end flow control and visibility of data – your
most precious asset.
Primeur Ghibli Next™ goes far beyond data
transformation by providing integration of every
element necessary to manage data safely and
efficiently in a heterogenous, multi-modal IT
environment. Provisions are made for security and
governance, modeling, monitoring and reporting, a
wide host of workflow, API and data transformations
along with the connectivity needed to support the
broadest range of use cases and protocols.
Besides using an input connector, data producers
can publish into a DataBox using a web client, CLI,
ftp or other protocol via client-server. Similarly,
data consumers can utilize an output connector as
described above and also utilize web client, ftp, or
other protocols to access information in a DataBox.
Other elements of the platform include:
• Modeler – Manages the configuration and
interaction between data producer and consumer
and how data is acted upon
• Workflow engine – Edits new workflows, executes
pre-defined processes and automates many tasks
including exception handling and authorization
requests. Even pre-defined workflows can be
modified as needs change
• Archiving – Manages archival and external
storage upon data expiration including automatic
deletion if desired
• Security – Provides for authentication,
authorization and audit, and can interface to an
existing security infrastructure such as LDAP
or Active Directory. Also provides adherence
to customizable security policies and provides
functions for encryption, certificates and keys
exchanged.
• API Integration – A set of REST APIs for managing
configuration, initiation, and up-and download
from a Primeur Ghibli Next™ DataBox
• Tracking – Collects information on all events
from creators and consumers, both users and
applications, that interface with the Primeur Ghibli
Next™ platform. Extensible to include external
services to ensure a complete view of all activities
involved in processing data.
• End to End Governance – Ensures all activities
are supervised and carried out based on agreed
service levels, and enables following data flow
from producer to consumer.
• Managed File Transfer – Secure, managed file
transfer solution supporting multiple products,
protocols and platforms, decoupling sender and
receiver
• Data processing – Connectors and tools enabling
integration with the broadest range of sources
such as mainframes, proprietary line of business
applications, off-the-shelf applications or cloud.
• Data Quality – This optional element uncovers
inconsistencies and data anomalies, and first
level quality control such as duplicate key, field
normalization and validation, data enrichment
as well as second level QC for business control
including data certification, reconciliation, other
business checks).
