How to ensure an enriched learning experience and
foster creative intelligence and critical thinking in
students?
As opposed to monotonous blackboard
teaching there are few strategies that
are helpful to achieve this aim.
Such as Project Based Learning!
2
What is Project Based Learning?
➢ Project Based Learning is a unique approach in
terms of teaching strategy wherein the educator
provides the students with an opportunity to do
an assignment independently.
➢ This allows the learners to take ownership of
the particular project instead of relying on the
teacher.
3
How to implement Project Based Learning in a classroom?
There are a few important steps that the educator
can follow to implement the strategy successfully:
➢ Content creation
Before the starting of the project, the educator
needs to explain that the content should
reflect the real-life scenarios and their
consequences
4
➢ Equal Participation
Divide the class into small groups of four or five
ensuring that each participates in the project
equally
➢ Dividing Tasks
To promote successful collaboration,
encourage the students to divide tasks within
each group member
5
➢ Essential Questions
Provide the students with driving questions or essential questions
This will help the students to keep focus when they are
investigating their individual topics
➢ Preparing a Project Plan
Help the students to draft a plan to carry out their project including
the activities that they should be incorporating
Create a deadline for the project 6
➢ Team Rubrics
Fix the number of days within which the learners
need to complete specific tasks
Use team rubrics to check if all the students in a
particular team are participating
7
➢ Guidance & Support to Students
Provide guidance and support to the learners as
per the requirement
Encourage the students to do self-assessments
to keep a track of their progress and rectify their
errors
8
9
3 Key Benefits of Project Based Learning
➢ PBL strategy helps to improve the communication
skills of the learners
➢ Enables to improve the social skills through
collaborative learning
➢ Encourages the students to think out of the box and
come up with innovative solutions.
