- 2. The Medellín River or river Aburrá is a Colombian River that flows through the city of Medellín and its metropolitan area, is the only River in this place. Born 3100 meters above the sea level, at the top of San Miguel, in the municipality of Caldas, South of the Aburrá Valley, descends the Valley of Aburrá, it runs through ten municipalities, it has a distance of 98 km and 2 km after, already with the name of Porce River, it flows into the river Nechi.
