In less than 24 hours, SAP built an application on SAP Cloud Platform for
the German government to repatriate tens of thousands of citizens. The
new cloud solution is scalable and secure, and allows the government to
ensure that its people get home quickly and safely.
Challenge
The COVID-19 pandemic stranded thousands of people around the world
with no way to get home. The German Foreign Ministry needed a fast and
secure way to coordinate the repatriation of its citizens. The previous
solution was not scalable to meet the needs during a pandemic.
