Here are the main parts of the eye and their functions:
- Cornea - The clear front part of the eye. It focuses light into
the eye.
- Iris - The colored part of the eye that controls the size of the
pupil and the amount of light entering the eye.
- Pupil - The black opening in the center of the iris. It adjusts to
the amount of light. In bright light, the pupil becomes smaller. In
dim light, it becomes larger to let in more light.
- Lens - A clear structure behind the pupil. It helps focus light
onto the retina. It changes shape to focus on near and far objects.
