- 2. INT. MENTAL HOSPITAL MAIN LOBBY - NIGHT An old wooden door CREAKS open, CHARLES steps out of his office and marches towards the front desk. CHARLES Fourth one this week, Fred. I think we’re gonna need to check all of the others, just to be sure. FRED Should I alert the, uh.. Y’know? CHARLES No, no, let’s keep this quiet until we know what we’re dealing with. Arrange for the patients to be examined in the morning. CHARLES turns around and walks sluggishly towards his office. FRED looks down at the security monitor, his expression turns to confusion. FRED Hey uh.. Charles? Come look at this. CHARLES Huh? What is it? CHARLES walks behind FRED’S desk and looks at the monitor. FRED Some guy, just... just walked out of the cabinet in the storage room... CHARLES Who is this guy? He’s not staff, and he doesn’t look like one of the patients. FRED I dunno man. I think you should check this out, I’ll keep an eye on the camera. CHARLES Nope, you’re coming with me. CUT TO:
- 3. 2. INT. STORAGE ROOM - NIGHT CHARLES and FRED slowly open the storage room door with a CREAK. As they enter, FRED flicks on the light switch. CHARLES looks around. CHARLES I don’t see him. Check the cabinet. FRED walks up to the cabinet and quickly pulls it open. FRED What the... Charles... I think I know how that guy got in. CHARLES runs over to FRED and looks into the cabinet. CHARLES What is this? Some sort of secret entrance to a hidden room in this building? FRED I don’t know. But I’m not going in there. We can just lock it and tell the higher-ups about this and let them deal with it. CHARLES No, they probably know about this already, they have to know! I bet they’d fire us, or worse, if we told them. I’m gonna go in and look for that guy. FRED SLAMS the cabinet shut. FRED No man, I don’t think you should do it. CHARLES opens the cabinet again. CHARLES I’m gonna go in, with or withou- This is different. CHARLES and FRED stare into the cabinet. FRED It didn’t look like this the last time... Uh, close and open it again. (CONTINUED)
- 4. CONTINUED: 3. CHARLES slowly shuts the cabinet door as FRED stares through the gap, then pulls it back open. FRED What? How? It’s different again, this new room looks like it’s made of... Flesh.. CHARLES That’s disgusting. Next room. CHARLES slams the door shut and pulls it open again. A man steps out of a room plagued with shadow. He is wearing a black gown/robe, and a pale white mask. The unknown man turns to FRED. UNKNOWN I sense it within you. I assure you, my cure is quite effective. I will fix you.
