Service learning is a teaching method that combines community service with academic instruction. Students apply what they learn in the classroom to address real-world problems in their community. This enhances what is taught by reinforcing the lesson with experience. The goal is for students to develop a sense of caring for others and civic responsibility.

- #13: 1. I learned how to make puppets based on characters from a book and I learned to research information before making puppets (planning and preparing) 2. I discovered that if I listen to suggestion(s), then my puppets would not look funny. I also discovered that some projects are time consuming and some are not. So I must always find ways to finish projects before the deadline 3. I will remember to be a life-long learner. Helps a lot!
- #14: My service-learning project help students that are visual and kinetics learners and English Language Learner. The 1st grade teacher will lend the book and puppets to other 1st grade teachers for their class.
