Global International School, East Coast Campus in Singapore conducted a student project on reducing paper usage. The project was led by 5 students in grade 8: Swarnima Sircar, Sruthi Ravichandran, Varun Gupta, Panun Bali, and Yahya Kamran, under the guidance of their teacher Punam Gupta. The students identified that excessive paper usage was contributing to deforestation and global warming. They created posters, conducted an assembly, distributed recycled paper bags, installed paper recycling bins, and started a paper recycling club. Through these efforts, they raised awareness about paper conservation among the 1000 students and 70 teachers at their school as well as people in the neighboring community.
