- 2. The title of my magazine will be 'Platinum' this is because I think the name is different and unique likewise to what was said in my questionnaire. I think my masthead will be completely relatable to hip hop music and will encourage my audience to read as it connotes high quality- exactly what I want my audience to think of my magazine. Platinum
- 3. Explanation of my choice of genre I have decided to create a hip hop magazine for both males and females. Hip hop music is slowly becoming more and more popular within the world so I am confident there will be people who are interested in my magazine. Hip hop music is stereotypically aimed at males, however, this is something I am going to challenge when creating my magazine. As i have chosen hip hop music as my genre it is important that I know what to include within my front cover and articles etc. There will be a variety of both male and females used within my magazine as well as competition etc to enter to create excitement for my audience and to stand out from other hip hop magazines.
- 5. Initial ideas for my front cover For my front cover I has various ideas on what I wanted to do in relation to hip hop music: The model of my main image will be either male and female or may even include both gender in one picture. They will be attractive in order to attract my audience. The shot of my models will be closeup/mid shot using direct address to again engage with the audience. My main cover line will be in relation to my main image, likely to be celebrity endorsement due to the demand and interest in the model. My miseenscene will include a plain background as I will follow codes and conventions of other hip hop magazines. My house style will be simple to create an older feel to the magazine but may include colours like gold as they connote wealth. This will be followed throughout the whole of my magazine. My masthead will also be placed in the top third of the magazine and will be in large typography so it stands out and is the first thing my audience see.
- 6. Initial ideas for my contents page My house style will follow what is used on my front cover in order to brand my magazine. Small and larger images will be included in relation to the articles within my magazine. The models I use will be of various ethnicities to engage my audience. The word Contents will be shown in large writing in order for the reader to know what they are looking at. My masthead will also be included on the page so my audience never forget the magazine they are reading and to brand my magazine. The masthead will be in the top third of my magazine also. There will be several quotes from articles within the magazine including th page number in bold as this will encourage the reader to buy the magazine and read the article.
- 7. Initial ideas for my double page spread My double page spread will be a Question and Answers article. They will be displayed in two different font colours and will indicate who is who. Pull quotes will surround the image which I use as part of my article in order to relate. My image which is used on the double page spread will be large and will fill most of the right hand page. In dead space of the image will be the name of the artist who is seen in the image. The house style will again be repeated in the double page spread through pull quotes and headings etc to show consistancy and professionalism. A drop cap will also be used to entice my readers. This will be through the heading or beginning of my Q&A article.
- 8. Initial ideas for photographs Each image will be taken with different miseenscene. Within my double page spread I may include various images of the celebrity from the shoot. My photographs will be of both males and females and they will be of different ethnicites and social classes. Likewise to my audience. I will also include singular and group images to represent different artists within the hip hop industry. I will also use different camera shots dependent on where the images will be placed within my magazine. The clothing of my models will always relate back to my hip hop genre so my audience are continually interested and attracted to my magazine. Props are unlikely to be used in my images, however things like hates, jewellery etc will be used and seen.
