PROJECT OVERVIEW
You will use your understanding of psychology to
identify, explore, and take action to better one
problem that you believe our community or school
is facing today.
YOUR PROJECT, YOUR PASSION, YOUR CHOICE
• This will be a project that will be guided by your own
viewpoints, passions, skills, and motivations.
• You will identify a problem in our community, determine
how it can be addressed, and take action to address it.
• Think Globally, Act Locally
• Think Locally, Act Individually
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
• Your Project must…
• Address a problem you see in our community
• Have a clear action plan and objective
• Target an Authentic Audience
• Entire community, group/team, or individual
• Be documented via Bi-Weekly Blog Posts (6 in Total)
• Be “creative”
• Have action taken by May 25, 2016.
• Be worked on and developed throughout the remainder of the
school year.

MR. BONICA’S PROJECT IDEAS
• You should be creative and create a project that is unique to
yourself.
• Carry out a book drive for Books on Wheels.
• Make a proposal to add a therapy dog in my classroom.
• Redesign the layout of my classroom (living rooms).
• Train my horse, Hank (The Tank), so that my nieces can ride him.
• Start a yoga class as a PE elective for the 17-18 school year.
• Teach “Team Leadership” Classes to captains of the track team.
• Develop and give presentations about goal setting to my athletes.
• Make a healthy cooking blog.
• Create a native plants garden at Brown’s Ferry Park.
• Make a promotional video for Tualatin XC.
PROJECT ASSESSMENT
• Blog posts (30%)
• Include an image and 150-300 words on the Past, Present, & future
of your project.
• Elevator Pitch (10%)
• One minute explanation of the goals of your project.
• Psychology Connections Paper (30%)
• 500-600 word paper that explains how psychology justifies your
actions and topic choice.
• TIP Talk Speech (or) Project Summary Presentation
symposium (30%)
• 5 minute rehearsed/memorized speeches on your project.
UPCOMING TASKS
• Next class we will participate in the “Bad Ideas Factory”
and brainstorm possible projects.
• Before leaving for Spring Break, you will submit a Project
Proposal.
