This project report describes the development of a travel assistant device for blind people using ARM7 and Zigbee technologies. The device consists of a transmitter stage carried by the user and a receiver stage located at different locations. The transmitter stage has switches, an ARM processor and Zigbee module. When the user presses a switch, it sends a signal via Zigbee to the receiver stage. The receiver stage has an ARM processor, Zigbee and output devices like a buzzer or voice module. The ARM processor at the receiver analyzes the signal and activates the appropriate output device to provide location information to the user. The report includes block diagrams, circuit diagrams and explanations of the various components used in the system.
