Uber Driver - Day Sprint Hackday, Yellow Slice The Problem Why do Drivers Cancel Rides ? 4 UX Design | UI Design Team members: Avanita Sharma / Anuja Sahukar With a recent trend in increasing ride cancellations, Uber has gained a bad rep among other ride hailing apps. With drivers continuing to cancel rides right after accepting, many people are left irritated and feeling betrayed. During and after the lockdown, driver cancellation penalties were suspended, which led to passengers having to search for an avg of 4-5 drivers for each trip. Problem areas to be addressed : As a User Experience Designer at Yellow slice, I took part many activities beyond my work, one of which were Hackdays, in which a UX and UI designer would be paired to solve a problem in an existing app. The given app for this problem was Uber - Driver App. Drivers cancelling because the location is speculated to be congested. Drivers cancelling because of online Payments Driver cancels because of increased passenger waiting time. Driver cancels because of location of passenger drop off
