Overview
THINGS WE'LL COVER • Description Computer Vision,
Ubicomp, IoT
• IoT and Ubicomp Difference
• Direction of Change
• Ubicomp Dream
• Current Stage - Video
• Working on Computer Vision?
• Pitfalls
• Becoming The Game Changer
• Revolution on IoT
• Conclusion
Computer Vision: enabling
computers to see, identify and
process images in the same way
that human vision does.
Main purpose is to create
machines that can see like
humans.
Ubiquitous Computing: Having
computational capability in
many different objects,
Iot: Internet of things, Having
objects all connected to an
internet
Ubicomp is
basically superset
of IoT
IoT evolved
from Ubicomp
Ubicomp vs IoT
Ubicomp will fall
into H-M.
IoT will fall M-M
There are 3
types of
interactions
H-H,H-M,M-M
Ubicomp can occur
using any device,
in any location,
any format,any time
IoT is network of
things connected to
internet
Internet UbiComp was
designed to make
objects intelligent
richer interaction,
the IoT was much
more focussed on
virtual
representations of
automatically
identifiable
objects
Purpose
‘Ubiquitous computing names the third wave in computing,
just now beginning.
First were mainframes, each shared by lots of people.
Now we are in the personal computing era, person and
machine staring uneasily at each other across the desktop.
Next comes ubiquitous computing, or the age of calm
technology, when technology recedes into the background of
our lives’
THE DISAPPEARING COMPUTER
MARK WEİSER
Change Direction->
Computers embedded on everything.
Computers are simple.
Computers are networked.
Autonomous,
Intelligent,
Decentralised,
Ubicomp Dream
We can inspire from our brain
while designing Ubicomp
MIND'S EYE

"Half of the human brain is devoted directly or indirectly to vision." said Prof.
Mriganka Sur from MIT Brain and Cognitive Science.
Mind's Eye
Complex areas of the brain work cooperatively,
rather than in a rigid hierarchy..
Brain cooperate to process visual information
such as vertical or horizontal orientation,
color, size, shape, movement, and distinctions
between overlapping objects.
Today's Pitfalls: Security, Too
general, Not intelligent
enough, World is full
of uncertainty
Is the potential loss of what
privacy worth the convenience
of the ubiquitous technology?
Computer Vision will revolutionize IoT
CREATING INTELLIGENT AUTONOMOUS
AND NETWORKED DEVICES NECESSARY,
BUT ONLY OVER THE IP NETWORK IS
QUESTIONABLE.
(CONTEXT-AWARENESS İS MİSSİNG)
WHAT ABOUT THIS UBICOMP :D
Why IoT
Revolution?
Game
Changer
At a certain point, some
problems would be best be
solved by letting the machine
learning system do the entire
job end-to-end.
End to End
All Internet connected devices
yes even your refrigerator are
potential hacker targets. Cost
is your privacy
Security
“Traditional programs flow only
from inputs to outputs,” With
PP, in contrast, you could ask
the program to infer the inputs
based on the outputs received.
Fighting Uncertainty
FUTURE MACHINES WILL BECOME
SMARTER, BETTER
H-M UNDERSTANDING IS POSSIBLE
WITH BETTER UBIQUITY
CONCLUSION
Let's shape %50 with Computer Vision
LET'S WONDER TOGETHER.
