Unit64 production log
- 1. Salford City College Eccles Sixth Form Centre BTec Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production Unit 64 – Motion Graphics and Compositing Video HA2 – E4 Sting Motion Graphic Production Log Name Daniel Harrison Date: 4 / 12 /13 I used photoshop to split apart te E4 logo. I did this by using the pologon alsso tool to split them up into jagged shapeds . I cut them into speraerat layers so when I put them into my animation they can be easly moved aound into the right position . I then imported them into my after effects project by importing them
- 2. as a file . I have made sure that I did not change the size of the E4 logo because they would not put it on the channel iff the logo has been in any way . Date: 4 / 12 /13 I tried to experiment with light burst in order to make the explosion at the beginning. I tried doing this by getting a shape block and then use the effect light burst I then played around with the effect in order to make a large flash of light in the centre of the screen. After completing it I thought it was not very good so I then decided to do it a different way. Date:11/12/13
- 3. Since the last explosion attempted did not look how I pictured it I then tried it at a different approach. I then tried using something called burn effect. I did this by adding to shape layers in to different colours one behind the others then I used the burn effect to make the first shape layer burn through and let the colour behind show. But this also did not look right. Date: 11/12/13
- 4. I finally went back to my first attempt with using light burst but this time I improved the colours which made it look better. There were other ways for me to do this at a better quality but I could not find out how to do it with the time I had to make this. Date: 11/12/13
- 5. I then moved on to the next part of my E4 project the making of the stars. The stars were meant to appear one by one and shine. My first attempt at making these was to uses shape layers with light burst to make them look as though they are shining. But when I put them on they id not shine or look like stars so I decided to scrap that idea and make starts by doing it a different way . Date: 11/12/13

I then looked on the internet for ways to make a star effect and I came across a effect called partial world cc. there was a part on the effect called stars that make stars appear still I then played around with to effect to change to angle amount of stars and how quick they appear . Date: 18/12/13
- 7. I then imported the split up E4 logo which I did earlier into my project by finding the file and import it. I then used basic movement animation to move the broken up pieces of the E4 logo into place from off screen into the middle. I did this by making key frames at the bottom in the time line at certain moments. Date: 18/12/13 Finally I used size commands in order to make it look as though the E4 log is spinning in place I did this by making key frames in the time line and just squashed the E4 logo and then made it back to the original size which give an impression that it was spinning in place.
