Name Shaun Warburton
Date:21/11/2013
I started to look at different radio stations around the country weather it was a commercial radio station such as Capital FM or Key 103 or non-commercial radio
stations like college radio stations such as the Eccles Sixth Form college, however when I began to research all of these radio stations I came across a lot more
non-commercial radio stations.
Date:24/11/2013
I created a mood board to help me essentially get down different ideas and provide pictures for me to get my ideas to make a lot more sense. These helped me
decide which one I would like to do as my E6 animation, so I thought up of as many ideas as I could and thought of what the themes will be based on. While
looking up ideas I realised that it was hard to come up with original ideas so I spent a week coming up with ideas.
Date:28/11/2013
Now that I have finished my mood board with 4 ideas, as it was hard to come up with challenging but simple ideas I struggled to come up with the ideas so I
settled with 4 different ideas that varied in different ways. These ideas included a superman theme, A train in a tunnel theme and a banner in the sky behind a
plane.
Date:9/12/2013
Now that I picked the idea that I wanted to do for my animation. I started off by printing off a storyboard template, with this I can start to draw out what I want
it to look like in each block of frames, to create these I used a pencil to draw out the outline, now with the outline of the buildings in place I began to shade in
each place so I knew where to place the lights on layout.
Date:17/12/2013
Now that I had finished my storyboards it was time to scan them into the computer I did this by putting them into photoshop and scanning them in however
when I scanned them in the scanned images didn’t show up properly so what I had to do Is adjust the brightness and contrast of each individual images.
Date:19/12/2013
As this was a 3D Animation unit I didn’t have to focus on the 3D Modelling side it, so I began some research for some buildings on the internet that I could use
for my city landscape, I found a website called turbosquid where I could either pay for 3D models or I could get free 3D models. I had some trouble with this as I
had to find some buildings that had .LWO files which most of them didn’t have so I had to find only a few buildings and copy them.
Date:08/01/2014
Now that I had found the buildings with the correct .LWO files I could finally start placing down my buildings and roads that I would want the E6 logo to go
around, however I had to do task 5 which is the Ethical/H&S Sign-off form which was easy to complete all I had to do was type the dates and my name then I
printed the sheet of and signed the largest box and then scanned it back into the computer however again as the storyboards it didn’t show up properly so I had
to mess around with the brightness/contrast of the image to make it stand out a lot more.
Date:13/01/2014
Once I had placed down all my buildings onto the screen and sorted them out where to go, I then put my work into layout which is the software that helps me
make it into an animation. Now that I have brought my model city into layout, I had to place the E6 logo where I wanted to start off, once I had positioned the
logo where I wanted it to be, I key framed it this means It will always be there unless I move it and key frame it again.
Date:20/01/2014
When putting in various key frames, I had to keep on previewing on it just in case something had gone wrong such as if the E6 logo goes through a building or
goes through the floor/road. When I previewed it once there was a major problem with the way the logo flown through the air as it span when I didn’t want it to
so to overcome this I had to parent the camera to the E6 logo this makes the camera follow where the E6 Logo moves.
Date:27/01/2014
When I was making the camera parenting that also messed with the way the logo flew through the air so to overcome this problem I parented another camera
to the logo and with that camera I did separate key frames from the first and main camera for the E6. Once I had finished placing all of the key frames it was time
to place the lights in and around the city landscape helping to light up the city in the way I wanted it to look. Once I had done that all that was left was to render
the animation out.
Date:03/02/2014
Once I had it rendered out my animation, I imported them into a software called Adobe Premiere Pro this software is what I use to help me edit and add effects
and sounds into my animation. Once I had imported them into the software I placed them into the bottom window where you edit the footage and so I began
using the rate stretch tool which lets me either stretch out the video making it ever so slightly slower or I can stretch it in to make it quicker than it should be,
once I sorted the animation out, I then began placing the sound in and by using the razor tool this enables me to cut out chunks out of the sound/video I
shortened it so it would match my animation I then also added in some audio transitions so it wouldn’t start suddenly or finish suddenly.
