Adobe Captivate Prime is an e-learning platform utilizing a universal HTML5 player for seamless content delivery across devices, supporting offline access and dynamic content integration. - 1. Adobe Captivate Prime What is Captivate Prime Adobe Captivate Prime uses a single universal player that, like a fluid, dynamically provides eLearning content in all major media types, and for desktop and devices all through a common player. The advantages are significant. Because Prime uses this HTML5 player, the learning experience is seamless and looks and feels like the same modern player on virtually any device. The mobile experience on Prime is full of delightful surprises. Most notably, it supports offline course playback and delayed reporting. So even if you’re away from a network, you can still take courses and the mobile player will just sync your scores and other data with the Prime servers the next time you are online. Let’s have a look at the interface of Adobe Captivate Prime. Crated a New Account and Logged in.
- 2. Step One will be adding a Module using the Module Library In order to add a new module, the user needs to sign in as “AUTHOR”. Go to the module library, click add button and fill up the details of the module that you want to upload. Once all the data is entered, drag and drop the SCORM file (Sample Interactions.zip) in the box shown below.

Now let’s insert the above added module to a new course In AUTHOR Mode, click the create course button and fill up the text boxes (Course Name, Description, Overview etc..) like shown below Under modules header, click Add modules and select the module that you want to have in this course (the module we just uploaded in the step above), after this click SAVE button. Your course is now added in the course catalog page.
- 4. Viewing the course catalog Course catalog contains all the courses added by the AUTHOR. Here you can see a new course called “Course-Sample Interactions” that we just added above. Assigning this course to a Learner In order to assign a course to a learner, we now have to go back to the Admin Mode. In Admin mode, click Enroll Learners. A new form will open up.
- 5. Select the name of the learner(s) and click save. Multiple learners can also be added at a time using the Add more Learners button Let’s see how a learner‘s profile look like As the learner progresses through the course the progress bar increases and the learner gets badges.
- 6. Previewing the course “Course- Sample Interactions” In the Learning Timeline, click the course Authoring in Prime and learner will see a Continue button. On click of the continue button, the course will start, if the Revisit button is visible that means learner has already completed the course.

Reporting Features in Captivate Prime More than 120 reports can be generated for a course which overview the data like skill achievement, course completion and course effectiveness, all the reports are displayed in graphs for better understanding. A separate dashboard for report can be shared with other admins also and the full report can be downloaded as an excel sheet for offline viewing.

Adobe Captivate DRAFT for Storyboarding Adobe Captivate Draft for iPad With Captivate 9, Adobe introduces a new iPad app that looks a lot like Adobe Ideas from a few years back that Adobe discontinued it in 2012. I remember using it and thinking, wow this would be amazing as a way to start designing learning experiences on the go and then continue developing these on the desktop and that is exactly what Adobe Captivate Draft for iPad is. According to Adobe’s site Draft is a storyboard app but I see it as a bigger innovation that has the potential to change how learning professionals will approach learning design in the 21st century. I don’t think is too far-fetched to envision a future where we can actually design full-blown learning experiences on a mobile device without the need for a desktop computer. Captivate Draft strengthens the idea that we are no longer tethered to our stationary computers and that mobile devices are maturing from simple consumption tools to powerful authoring devices. I especially like the intuitive gestures included in Draft for placing squares, triangles and circles on slides, as well as more powerful objects, such as text, images, video, audio and web objects, all with a simple finger gesture on the screen. It really is impressive. Incidentally, if you tap on any of these gestures, the app will show you how to draw these objects in order to add them correctly using a simple animation. And that is just the beginning with this app. You can actually storyboard multiple slides, even add question slides, as well as images from your iPad’s library, record audio on the spot, share it with other reviewers and upload it to the Adobe Creative Cloud for easy access from Adobe Captivate 9.
