- #2: Department of Health Punjab and Punjab Health Sector Reforms Program (PHSRP), in collaboration with Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), is launching a project that will help improve management of the health sector in Punjab. Aimed at augmenting the efforts of PHSRP of sustainably improving the quality and reach of health services in the province, the project introduces the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to the performance monitoring system of health facilities in Punjab. It will facilitate not only the collection of performance related data from Basic Health Units (BHUs), Rural Health Centres (RHCs) and Tehsil and District Headquarters (THQs and DHQs), but also its analysis by the relevant authorities to inform management of the sector.Executive District Officers (EDOs), District Health Officers (DOs) and Deputy District Health Officers (DDOs) will be able to submit all relevant information from their inspection visits of health care facilities using Android-based smart phones, which will be provided free of cost, and the data will be conveniently made available for review and analysis by all concerned personnel on the internet.
