This document provides an overview of key concepts in Web 2.0 from a librarian's perspective. Examples of Web 2.0 technologies include blogs, which allow users to publish content in reverse chronological order; RSS feeds, which syndicate updates to content; social bookmarking sites that allow users to tag and share bookmarks; mashups that combine data in new ways; and wikis, which enable collaborative editing of content. The document also notes challenges of evaluating information on the web and security concerns with Web 2.0 applications.
