During this unit you will:read, write, and talk about fivedifferent narratives that examine how characters respond to different types of challenges.
You will also :talkabout and compare some of the techniques that the authors used in writing these narratives.
As you study these texts, you will also develop a narrative of your own as you write like these authors to describe a challenge that either you or another person faced and the response to this challenge.
ModelingAs you read, pay close attention to how these authors develop their characters and tell their stories.  You will incorporate these techniques into your own narrative to write like these authors.   You will start writing your narrative at the beginning of the unit and develop it as you progress with the study of these texts.

Final draftHomeworkBrainstormThink of 10 or more challenges that you have had to overcome in your route to adulthood.  They can be academic, athletic, personal, relational, or other.  At the conclusion of each event, you should have changed somehow.
