What have I learnt from the audience feedback?
Overall After showing our complete set of projects to a group of people that suited our target audience, we gave them a questionnaire of 12 questions which they had to rank each project on a scale from 1 to 5. Then, when each person had completed the questions, we got an average for each question.
Question 1 Question 1 asked our target audience how informative they thought our final documentary to be. The average came to 4.2 showing us that they believed our documentary was quite informative and people seemed to have learnt something from it. We could change it by putting more information from different experts within our documentary.
Question 2 The second question asks our target audience whether they found our documentary entertaining or not. The average of this question came to 3.8 showing that they believed it to be mildly entertaining. If we did the documentary again, we could make it more entertaining by putting fun facts into our narrative or more archive footage.
Question 3 The third question asked our target audience whether the technical and editing side of the documentary was good. The average came to 4.8 showing that we had done well on our editing. We could have made it better by using smoother camera movement and more editing techniques.
Question 4 The next question asked the audience whether our documentary obeyed the codes of conventions of a documentary. The average of this question came to 4.4 which shows that our documentary very nearly met all of the codes and conventions that should be in a documentary. To make it even better, we could have used more to create the perfect documentary.
Question 5 Question 5 asked our target audience whether a mixture of dark and bright colours worked well within our documentary. The average came to 3.8 which shows us that they did work but not as well as we had previously thought. If doing this project again we could have created a better colour scheme that suited our documentary.
Question 6 The sixth question was about the radio advert. It asked our audience whether they would rate our slogan as catchy and if they would remember it. The average of this question came to 4.2 showing that it was quite a simple and catchy slogan. We could have made this better by thinking of a slogan that is more catchy and easy to remember, like the McDonalds slogan.
Question 7 Question 7 asked the audience asked the audience if our radio advert related to the documentary and had relative information. The average came to 4.2 showing that it was very nearly perfect and related to our documentary well. To create a better radio advert, we could have made it extremely relevant to our documentary and used more clips from the documentary itself.
Question 8 The eighth question asked the audience what they thought of the music in the background of our radio advert. The average of this question came to 3.2 which was our lowest average, showing us that the music was not to the audiences' taste. To create a better judgement, we could find a better music bed that also related back to our documentary.
Question 9 Question 9 asked our target audience whether, after hearing the radio advert, they would watch the documentary. The average came to 3.4 showing us that we could have created a better radio advert that was more entertaining and enticed the audience. To make it better we could have left a cliff-hanger or inserted questions that the audience wanted to know the answers to.
Question 10 This question asked the audience whether the image on our print advert relates to our documentary. The average was 4 showing us that it related well to our documentary. To make it even more relative we could have taken a picture of somebody getting tattooed or of tattoo equipment itself as not many people know how tattoo equipment works.
Question 11 Question 11 asked the audience whether our print advert had all the information needed on it for them to be able to watch the documentary. The average of this question was 4.2 showing us that the advert had the majority of the information needed. It could have been better as we could have also inserted a website for the audience to visit for any further information they may want to know.
Question 12 This was the last question we asked our target audience and it asked them how much they liked the colour we used for our text. The average came to 4.4 showing that they liked the text. It is blue because when we did target audience research, they said their favourite colour was blue. We could have made it better by re asking the question before creating our advert to see if the answer was still the same.
