PDHPE teaches students the knowledge and skills to lead a healthy lifestyle, including motor skills, healthy eating, relationships, personal safety, and embracing an active lifestyle. It encourages understanding of self and others, promotes physical activity, and emphasizes informed decision making. The curriculum covers physical, social, cognitive, and emotional development, positive relationships, personal health choices, safety, and adopting an active lifestyle. Being physically active can help with growth, maintaining a healthy weight, bone and muscle strength, fitness, skills, concentration, self-esteem, and social skills. The teacher enjoys teaching PDHPE as it teaches important lifelong skills, promotes health and activity, and can be an enjoyable experience for students.
