Executive Summery
• The Project was carried out by Dr. Anamika ray Memorial
Trust, Guwahati with support from CEMCA, New Delhi.
• Build capacity in a 6 day programme for 16 CR Broadcasters
of 8 CRS of 5 Indian states.
• A total of 4,209 responses collected for the baseline survey
• 73 Community Learning Programmes Developed using
formative research
• 135 Radio spots were developed and broadcast for almost a
year
• 30 Field based activities carried out in 3 CRS of Assam and
WB.
• 2,700 Youth participated in the Field based activities
• 300 Youths took admissions in different Skill Development
institutes with direct intervention and 500 youths got
admission with indirect intervention.

Baseline Survey
• Baseline Survey for Community Radios of India
• A total of 4,209 responses were collected from people
between the ages of 18 to 30 years of age.
• The CR Stations where the survey was carried out are-
– Assam: Radio Brahmaputra, Radio Luit, Jnan Taranga
– West Bengal: Radio Salesian, Radio JU
– Bihar: Radio Snehi
– Orisha: Radio Bulbul
– Manipur: Radio Tamna, Imphal.

Success Story:
Radio Brahmaputra
• About 1600 youth participated in the Field Activities
• 175 Youths got admission in skill dev institutes with direct
intervention and about 300 with indirect intervention
• Identifying and preparing a list of unemployed youths in the
Tea Garden areas
• Identified 10 Tea gardens for implementing the project
• Bridging the gap between skill development institutes and
hard-to-reach community
• Promoting skill development initiatives through CR Spots
and preparing a list of the interested youths and connecting
to the institutes.
• Promoting traditional skills through the story telling method
with in-depth information highlighting the success stories/
experiences

Success Story:
Radio Luit
• About 700 youths participated in 13 Field Activities
of Radio Luit
• About 300 listeners participated in the development
process of CLP.
• 20 Youths got admission in skill dev institutes with
direct intervention and about 50 with indirect
intervention
• Collaborated with APRO, Govt of Assam and
provided assistance to about 80 participants in skill
programmes.
• 25 Expert trainer were associated and cooperated
with IIE and ASLMS.
• Supported PWD with information assistance.

Radio JU
• About 400 youth participated in 10 Field Activities of radio JU
• 32 Youths got admission in skill dev institutes with direct
intervention and about 70 with indirect intervention
• Identifying and preparing a list of unemployed youths in
about 10 Slum areas in Kolkata
• About 200 listeners contacted for more information on SD
• About 10 listeners confirmed their engagement.
• Bridging the gap between skill development institutes and
hard to reach community
• Promoting skill development initiatives through CR Spots and
preparing a list of the interested youths and connecting to the
institutes.
• About 15 trainers and course administrators of skill dev
institutes were directly associated with the endeavour and
visited many slum areas
