 What to do in case of fire aid
 First aid principles of first aid
 Restoring breathing
 First aid for common situation
 Dealing with emergency
 Planning for emergency
 In case of emergency like fire and illegal work
going on behind the doors of the hotel by illegal
people ,then emergency procedure is followed by
each and every hotel without creating any
inconvinence to the guest staying in the hotel
guest rooms
 If possible attack the fire with suitable eqiupment ,
remembering to direct the exitnguishers at the base of
the flames . Do not attemt to fight a fire if there is any
danger of personal risk .
 Close windows and switch off electrical appliances ,
including fans and lights.
 Close the door to the affected area and report to your
immediate supervisor for instructions .
 Remain at the assemly point until instructed to do
otherwise .
 Do not use the lifts .
 immediately switch on the nearest fire alarm .
 The initial assistance or treatment to a casualty for
any injury or sudden illness before the arrival of an
ambulance , doctor or other qualified person is
called ‘ first aid’ . The notion of ‘first’ aid itself
signifies that the casualty is likely need of
‘secondary aid’ .
 Act calmly and logically .
 Be in control –both of himself / herself and the
problem .
 Be gentle but firm ,and speak to the casualty
kindly but purposefully.
 Explain to the casualty what he/she is going to
do .
 Continuously reassure the casualty .
 Never separate a child from its parents or
guardian.
 Send the casualty to hospital or doctor by the
quickest means of transport.
 always inform the police about the serious
accidents .
 Inform the relatives of the casualty .
 This is done by administering mouth to mouth
respiration. Put your face close to the casualty
mouth and look , listen and feel for breathing , it
will generate a pulse in the neck where the main
arteries pass up to the head . With the head tilted
back, feel the adam’s apple with two fingers. Slide
your fingers back towards you along the victim’s
throat till it sits in the gap between the adam’s
apple and the strap muscle; feel for the carotid
pulse
 Pinch and compress the nose to close the nostrils.
 Take a deep breath .
 Place your mouth around the victim’s mouth ,
making an airtight seal and quickly breath into the
victim’s mouth four times .
 Re-fill your lungs by inhaling deeply after this step.
Fill the victim’s chest with air once every 5
seconds .
 Watch the victim’s chest movement for rise and
fall of chest .
 Allow the patient to exhale .

 Employee training : training in emergency
procedures is essential to deal with
emergencies .
 Emergency resources : the names and telephone
numbers of outside agencies that may be of help
during an emergency need to be listed and kept in a
prominent, accessible place .
 Drill : fire emergency drill should be conducted
periodically and it should be mandatory for all staff to
attend these in shifts .
