- 2. 1. DRAWING TABLE – a special table with an adjustable top so that it can be tilted to a desired angle. 2. DRAWING BOARD – where the drawing paper is attached. 3. T-SQUARE – is used as guide as a guide for drawing horizontal lines and serves as support triangles when drawing other kinds of lines. 4. TRIANGLES – are used for drawing vertical and oblique lines. 5. RULING PEN – is used to ink line drawn with instruments, never to ink freehand lines or freehand lettering. 6. COMPASS – is used for drawing arcs and circles. 7. DIVIDERS – are used for dividing lines into any number of equal parts, and transferring measurements and spacing points or lines. - 3. 8. PROTRACTOR – is a semi circular scale divided into 180 equal parts each of which is called degree (0). 9. TRIANGULAR SCALE – is the type of scale commonly used for general drawing. 10. FRENCH CURVE – is the device for the mechanical drawing of curved lines and should not be applied directly to the points, or used for the purposes of producing an initial curve. 11. ERASER – used to remove smears, pencil or ink lines on a drawing. 12. ERASING SHIELD – is used to protect the drawing near the portion being erased. 13. DRAWING PENS – are generally used for lettering, although the so-called technical pen is not only used for lettering but also for drawing lines. 14. TEMPLATES – a template may be found for drawing almost any ordinary drafting symbols or repetitive features. 15. DRAWING INK – is composed chiefly of carbon in colloidal suspension and gum. 16. DRAWING PAPER – this has a hard and smooth surface. 17. DRAFTING TAPE – is used for fastening paper to the drawing board or table.
