AS Coursework Overall Marks Name: Aaron Cork Planning – Comments and mark out of 12/20 For full comments please see the pre-production marks sheet Construction – Main Task – comments and mark out of 46/60 There is evidence of proficiency in the creative use of many of the technical skills Footage: Is appropriate for target audience, fitting genre conventions of horror well. Controlled use of camera throughout. Editing: Editing started well, building tension, however pace was lost towards the end. Good variety of shots used throughout. Sound: Good use of diegetic and non-diegetic sound. Overall: A proficient horror piece. Good use of location and mise-en-scene. The title card was not in keeping with the genre. Evaluation – Comments and mark out of 13/20 Question 1: Answered using word and slideshare. Candidate offers some good analysis on his choices for his film opening. Good use of examples. Question 2: Answered using prezi. Candidate explains well which social groups are represented in his film. Would have been good to include whether the film is aimed that this group of people as well. Question 3: Answered using power-point and slideshare. Candidate explains well that Revolver Entertainment and or Universal would be best to distribute his film using some good examples. Question 4 and 5: Answered using powtoon. Question 4 - Avatars used to represent the stereotypical audience members. Good inclusion of their likes, dislikes and hobbies. Question 5 - A short survey was done with results posted in an interesting way. However this would have benefited from analysing the results. Question 6: Answered using photoshop and blogger. A good collage created of the technologies used. Some technologies are then talked through in how they were used. Would have been good to see this for all the technologies. Question 7: Answered using word and slideshare. Candidate provides a reflective piece explaining what he has learnt throughout his journey from preliminary to final task. Overall a proficient evaluation, most answers offer good attention to detail, however some could have more. Total 71/100 Grade: B
