This document discusses a case study of adopting open educational resources (OER) at BCIT to replace textbooks for an English for Academic Purposes program. The goals of the OER adoption project were to replace course readings with open resources, drive teaching and learning innovations, promote sharing and collaboration, and increase efficiency and consistency. Potential benefits included enhancing material quality, promoting personalization, reducing costs, and increasing accessibility. The project delivered a course kit in print and digital formats that replaced existing materials and better met student needs while lowering costs by over 50%.
