These are just some out of the thousands of testimonials and success stories of the skill development programs in india which clearly shows how we are becoming self-sufficient and powerful as a nation by empowering our workforce. That’s the reason why AISECT has taken skill development very seriously by tieing up with NSDC. AISECT has collaborated with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), a non-profit organization which is on the mission of imparting skills to the youth of this country with the help of various institutes and skill councils of India across diverse sectors. It was founded in the year 2009 by the Ministry of Skill Development and currently, it comes under the Ministry of Finance (under Companies Act) of Government of India. With the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax in 2017, NSDC and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) collaborated and imparted skill to over 100,000 people and GST experts who further helped the corporate sector with their accounts work. The NSDC has already trained more than 5.2 million students. It has also generated 235 private sector partnerships and 38 Sector Skill Councils across various industries. It is projected that by 2022 jobs will be created in India which would require an additional 104 million of the workforce and with the changing scenario of technology in the country, almost 300 million of the workforce would require to upgrade their skills according to the current industrial norms. In order to deal with this and build the largest skill network in the country, NSDC has collaborated on so numerous projects with big companies like Uber and Maruti. They have partnered with Amazon’s "Meri Saheli” program to increase digital literacy among Indian women. With Google, it has launched a 100-hour program which is training people on mobile development. It is also working with Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs to provide courses on e-governance, CSR activities, business innovation among some other industry- ready skills. The main activities of NSDC include: - Providing support to vocational training institutes in the form of soft loans and they are expected to become self-sustainable in the next 3-5 years. - Conducting various researches in the labour market to better understand the gap between the company’s expectation of the workforce and the skills it is currently lacking. - Establishing many Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) in order to impart the skills required for high growth industries of the country. - Engaging in targeted advocacy campaigns to better understand the local needs by working with state governments and conducting ground level researches.
- 2. The nsdc course list consists of 221 courses across 34 industries of the country. The job roles are distributed across industries like agriculture, sports, health and fitness, rubber, construction, food processing, green jobs, handicrafts and many more. AISECT Org is offering most of the above courses with the most enhanced and up-to-date curriculum. They are on the right path of creating a global workforce with training in highly advanced skills. They are helping India compete on an international scale in the World Skills Competition and winning medals for the country. They are also supporting fiscal policies of the government like, "Make in India”, "PMKVY”, "DDUKV”, etc. AISECT Org has reached about an 80% employment rate for their graduates.
