Analysis survey results
Question 1- which category your age below ?
The first question which I asked people was, ‘which category below
includes your age below’ this gave me a good start of what age where the
people who were taking my survey. As this was good idea to start with so
then I would know what major area to cover if they had less people who
didn’t do my survey to cover that particular area. As this specific area
covers ages such as under 15’s, 41-50, 51 – 64 and 65 and over. As all of
these specific area of ages only got 1% percent people through all of
these ages. However, I would say the rising ages were quite a wide range
as from; 15 - 19, 20-30 and 31,40. By looking at these statics firstly at the
age range of 15-19 which had a response of 40.48%, secondly, the age
range of 20 – 30 which had a response of 38.10% and lastly, looking at the
age range of 31-40 got a response of 11.90%. The reason which I got such
a high rating from the age range of 15-19 till 31-40. I would say this type
of age range were specifically engaged with in the social media of where I
sent out to like Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Reddit. As I used these
types of places to post my survey it was just by using social media. As this
is why I didn’t get much surveys questionnaires from the other age
ranges.
What is you gender ?
This question tells who the people who took this survey were
either male or female or even they preferred not to say. By looking
a female statics the responses came to 71.43% of about 30 people
female said they were female. By looking at males statics the
responses it came to 26.19% and about 11 males said they were
male who took the survey. 2.38% decided to preferred not to say
what their gender was, of 1 person who said this. As you can see
from this graph that most of the people who did this survey and
which I have gathered the results were mostly female against male
which a bit less. One person decided not answer what their gender
to us because it is a tough subject to talk about. As you can see
that most of genders were female I would say this has gave out my
result like this because I have got questionnaire results from social
media based and websites too. Also I think that the female gender
thought that it happens to them more often and affects them
more often than unlike the male genders. This shows that males
don’t use social media and websites from this particular age range.
Also this may show us and tell us that the male statics show it up
to people and let people see it is happening to them at all. Unlike
women are okay to rise up to it.
Which of the following types of domestic
abuse are you aware of?
From this questionnaire the question asks if my audience I have asked is,
‘Which of the following types of domestic abuse are you aware of?’. From
looking at this graph at the specific kinds of domestic violence such as
physical, sexual or mental/emotional abuses. This tells us about my
audience is that it has been made clear that all of my audience they are
clear of all of them. However, the ones which have got a 100% responses
which are physical and sexual abuse are more of aware of unlike mental and
emotional abuse. With mental and emotional abuse they have got responses
of 95.12%. From mental and emotional abuse to physical and sexual abuse
there is 5% decrease between these different kinds of abuses. As this shows
that not many people are aware of mental abuse and emotional abuse, as
these types of abuses are more harder to spot within a person to notice. As
this shows that most of the audience which I have questioned are more
aware of abuse that it is within physical and sexual abuse. As this is good as I
would say these are the major ones for domestic abuse that people have to
be aware of the most but also they have to be aware of mental and
emotional abuse to. This tells me that we as a nation need to know more
about and to be aware of mental and emotional abuses as well. These types
of domestic abuses can be hidden within people to not be made easy to see.
This shows with this graph of both physical and sexual abuses have been
made clearer of what the signs within adverts and poster etc. This has made
a big part to help out with the awareness's. Unlike the other domestic abuses
haven't been made aware that much. Unlike the other two abuses. I tells us
that most of audience understand and are aware of abuses which are
happening. As this is good, as they just need more awareness needs to get
out there.
Have you or anyone you know suffered from
different forms of domestic violence?
This question tells us ,‘Have you or anyone you know suffered from
different forms of domestic violence?’ The people who have
answered this question have mostly answered ,‘Yes’ tells us that
71.43% people have been affected with domestic violence or
someone they know has suffered it. However, the people who have
answer, ‘No’ tells us that 28.57% haven’t been affected with
domestic violence in their life at all or even people who they know
haven’t suffered any domestic violence at all in their life at all. This
shows that most people have suffered from sort of domestic
violence. By looking at this graph about, ‘Have you or anyone you
know suffered from different forms of domestic violence?’ that no
one has skipped this question shows that it is important and if the
people have been affected from it. Also the fact that people who
have answered all of these questions are all anonyms so no will
know who is who. As this is good because people don’t want to know
who is who taking about serious affects which has happened to
them. As this is good that quite a lot of people have been honest
and been truthfully if they had suffered from domestic violence or
someone else they know has suffered it.
What sort of domestic violence have you or
someone you know experienced?
For this question you could only answer one specific type of sort domestic violence which someone
has experienced from one of these answers out of;
I have not been the victim of domestic violence = 58.54% responses
Pushing or shoving (causing no injury) = 46.34% responses
Pushing or shoving (with injury) = 24.39% responses
Hitting, Slapping punching causing injury = 46.34% responses
Kicking = 17.07% responses
Pulling hair = 26.83% responses
Using a source of an object to hit you = 24.39% responses
Attempt of strangulation = 14.63% responses
Been burnt (by cigarette or hot water which has been scared on to you) 7.32% responses
This shows me from this graph that there is wide variation of what people have experienced with
different sorts of domestic violence who been a victim of it in different categories and also people
who haven’t been a victim of domestic violence. By looking at people who haven’t been victim of
domestic violence is high range of people of 58.54%. As this shows half of the victims of domestic
violence haven’t experienced any other these categories. This also tells us that the other half of
this percentage 58.54% has experienced some sort of domestic violence. The major responses from
different sort of domestic responses is by looking at both Hitting, Slapping punching causing injury
and Pushing or shoving (causing no injury) these are most frequent of domestic violence that which
I have carried out with my survey. The others which I haven’t talked about but which people have
experienced which are still major high and also major concern. As by me saying that they are
major high as the ones that I haven’t talked about they all so close to each other at same heights
with each other. That’s why it makes it concerning.
What was the relationship with abuser?
This question tells us what connections did you have with the abuser at
the time of when the abuser was abusing you.
Boyfriend/Girlfriend = 51.43%
Husband/Wife = 31.43%
Living with them = 25.71%
Family member = 34.29%
Other = 20%
This tells us about the relationship between the abuser and the victim by
looking at relationship of abuser to be a boyfriend or girlfriend this has
got the highest number of responses coming back towards this one. As this
would show at this is the start of something new for a relationship to
where the main signs occur in a relationship so close to someone like a
boyfriend and girlfriend. The start of something new. Also a family
member is the second biggest part of having a relationship with the
abuser. As well as this type of relationship with the abuser as you live with
them from the very start of your life of something new as this is close to
boyfriend and girlfriend. This where it all begins if the abuser starts to
abuse the victims at these points, of something new. By looking at the
next major relationship with abuser with a connection with a husband or
wife. As they will become controlling, verbally abuse and be possessive
etc. to the victim as when they have got them tied down. By looking at
living with the abuser, it is harder to get away from a particular person if
you live with them so I think that’s not most of them talked about it that
much.
What was the relationship with abuser?
By looking at this question and looking at the answer where people could
have put other information if it was not listed if the relationship was the
any of the above which has been so they could write it here instead. As
most of the people said that they weren’t a victim of domestic violence
and also people said N/a as well. However, there was one major one that
occurred here on the other section of the answers to be a patient that
which who has had a connection with one of them the patients.
Where the other section people could specifically say other features
that weren’t there on the list, which what they had a connection or a
relationship with the abuser.
Other (specifically say) = 20%
Was the abuser Male or Female ?
This question tells us more information about if which gender was the
abuser. If it was Male or Female. This helps us by taking into account of
specific gender who is the abuser. As you see from this graph, there has to
been seen that mostly males who are the abusers who may do domestic
violence. As it seems from graph by looking at the abusers being female is
much lower against male abusers. This makes such a dramatic difference
between male to women. From it suddenly being 70.97% from male
abusers and then comparing it to 29.03% from female abusers. This shows
and tells us that most abusers are male compared to female abusers. As
this makes us think that male are more abusive because they are strong
and big as this makes that women are less harmful. As this what it looks
like it has been represented on the graph which have made more of males
seem more abusive compared to female abuser. As the female has been
made less of abusive this is what it has been said on this graph here as it.
Did you know it’s just not women and children that
suffer from domestic violence but did you known it’s
men as well?
This question tells us that my audience knows that it’s not just women and children who
suffer from domestic violence it is also men as well. The audience who have answered
this question who have answered Yes or No. The responses which I got from audience who
said yes were 97.44%. The responses I got from people who said the answer No were
about 2.56%. By firstly, looking at the responses saying yes. I would say that most of these
people understand that’s not only women and children who have been affected from
domestic violence as they release it is men as well. As they see everyone can be affected
as it doesn’t matter if your female, younger, older or specially and adult male. As this
takes into account of that it doesn’t matter about your age either as it younger or older.
As it can happen anytime. As this makes it clear that domestic violence can happen to
anyone no matter about gender you are or more. However, the 2.56% responses who said
No that domestic violence just doesn’t affect men as well. As they are trying to say it
just affects women and children and not men or even young boys at all. This tells us that
this 2.56% think may just be selected gender of how they think it affects more children
and women unlike men. As they may keep it more hidden within themselves. As with the
posters they may thought that only see women and children only getting abused of
domestic violence but actually can happen to anyone.
So the graph tells us most people are well known and taught that domestic violence can
happen as it doesn’t matter what gender you are. As it may not appear that aware that
men may suffer from domestic because it is such a low number as 4% of men suffer from
against women which suffers of 8.2%. As it may seen more common within women and
children.
Did know that children exposed to domestic violence
are more likely to become adult perpetrators
themselves?
This question tells me about my audience that they are aware that a child may
become perpetrators when they adults when they have been exposed to domestic
violence when they were younger. From looking at this graph it tells us that most
people have decided to answer this question are wondering if they will become
perpetrators when they are an adult or if they won’t become a perpetrators as an
adult at all if they have been exposed domestic violence at young age in their life.
By looking at the responses;
Yes = 77.50%
No = 22.50 %
Looking at the people who have responded to the answered Yes to if they would
think that a child who has experienced with domestic violence are likely to become
an adult perpetrators themselves, as this gave a very high percentage of 77.50%.
This tells me that most of audience thinks if they are exposed to domestic violence
at such a young age they are more likely to do it someone else. As most children
who have been exposed at such a young age and which it has stayed with them their
whole lives. So this is why I would think this it has got such a high rating against the
answer No. So they would be come perpetrators themselves. As the perpetrators
who will get older may not think what is right or wrong. Of doing it to others that
which they know that may be close to one another.
Looking at the people who have responded to the answered No to that they don’t
think that children who have been exposed to domestic violence won’t become a
perpetrators themselves when they are older at all. Of about 9 people who
answered this No shows that they don’t want to become perpetrators themselves as
what they have been exposed to as a child.
If you where the victim, where would you go
to?
This question tells me that about my audience of where they would got for a source of help to
find a way out of domestic violence. Saying if you were a victim or if you weren’t a victim
places you may got to help yourself out in this huge situation.
Sources of help which I have listed are the following;
Family = 58.54%
Friends= 60.98%
Women’s refugee = 21.95%
Organisations = 21.95%
Police = 51.22%
Social service = 19.51%
Church leader = 2.44%
Other (please specify say) = 14.63%
By looking at these different responses the most popular choices which the audience have
selected from the different sources are; going towards their own family for help, going to
friends for help or going to police to tackle it. These would have been said the best help plans
for this type of cause if your going to either family or friends then you have got a close
connection with them already and you can speak to either truthfully about stuff like this sort of
matter. By looking at Police you would got here because they can tackle hard on to capture the
abuser head on. Before the abuser does any other actions with anyone else that make risks to
the public or others. Also by going to the Police for help they can findings faster and quicker to
stop the abuse before it gets to far. Also the other help sources are also good because if your
victim if you don’t want to talk to someone about the cause which has happened to you this is
a good way to get heard. By going to following places; Women’s refugee, Organisations, Social
service or Church leader.
If you where the victim, where would
you go to?
By looking at places of where you can go for help but by specifically
looking at Others (please specify say) was about 14.63%. From these
responses that which I had got from this. Is a quite a range of results
of what the audience have written here. For an example three people
said that they couldn’t go anywhere to get help for domestic violence
of what was happening to them. As this is a big disaster because one
person said was trying to get help from their own family but they
didn’t help with anything with them. As this shows we need to prove
we need to bring more places of where they can go and contact other
people who have been affected the same way. So this would be a
good idea instead of keeping it all into themselves as they wouldn’t
to talk about and get it out and get help of what to do. As they could
go somewhere so they can be safe instead of hurt and go somewhere
loving and caring. Also by looking at the other answers people have
put are such as they got help from their family like their dad and also
if working some where can get help from them. To help you get out of
domestic violence.

The others which I haven’t talked about but which people have experienced which are still major high and also major concern. As by me saying that they are major high as the ones that I haven’t talked about they all so close to each other at same heights with each other. That’s why it makes it concerning.
  • 7. What was the relationship with abuser? This question tells us what connections did you have with the abuser at the time of when the abuser was abusing you. Boyfriend/Girlfriend = 51.43% Husband/Wife = 31.43% Living with them = 25.71% Family member = 34.29% Other = 20% This tells us about the relationship between the abuser and the victim by looking at relationship of abuser to be a boyfriend or girlfriend this has got the highest number of responses coming back towards this one. As this would show at this is the start of something new for a relationship to where the main signs occur in a relationship so close to someone like a boyfriend and girlfriend. The start of something new. Also a family member is the second biggest part of having a relationship with the abuser. As well as this type of relationship with the abuser as you live with them from the very start of your life of something new as this is close to boyfriend and girlfriend. This where it all begins if the abuser starts to abuse the victims at these points, of something new. By looking at the next major relationship with abuser with a connection with a husband or wife. As they will become controlling, verbally abuse and be possessive etc. to the victim as when they have got them tied down. By looking at living with the abuser, it is harder to get away from a particular person if you live with them so I think that’s not most of them talked about it that much.
  • 8. What was the relationship with abuser? By looking at this question and looking at the answer where people could have put other information if it was not listed if the relationship was the any of the above which has been so they could write it here instead. As most of the people said that they weren’t a victim of domestic violence and also people said N/a as well. However, there was one major one that occurred here on the other section of the answers to be a patient that which who has had a connection with one of them the patients. Where the other section people could specifically say other features that weren’t there on the list, which what they had a connection or a relationship with the abuser. Other (specifically say) = 20%
  • 9. Was the abuser Male or Female ? This question tells us more information about if which gender was the abuser. If it was Male or Female. This helps us by taking into account of specific gender who is the abuser. As you see from this graph, there has to been seen that mostly males who are the abusers who may do domestic violence. As it seems from graph by looking at the abusers being female is much lower against male abusers. This makes such a dramatic difference between male to women. From it suddenly being 70.97% from male abusers and then comparing it to 29.03% from female abusers. This shows and tells us that most abusers are male compared to female abusers. As this makes us think that male are more abusive because they are strong and big as this makes that women are less harmful. As this what it looks like it has been represented on the graph which have made more of males seem more abusive compared to female abuser. As the female has been made less of abusive this is what it has been said on this graph here as it.
  • 10. Did you know it’s just not women and children that suffer from domestic violence but did you known it’s men as well? This question tells us that my audience knows that it’s not just women and children who suffer from domestic violence it is also men as well. The audience who have answered this question who have answered Yes or No. The responses which I got from audience who said yes were 97.44%. The responses I got from people who said the answer No were about 2.56%. By firstly, looking at the responses saying yes. I would say that most of these people understand that’s not only women and children who have been affected from domestic violence as they release it is men as well. As they see everyone can be affected as it doesn’t matter if your female, younger, older or specially and adult male. As this takes into account of that it doesn’t matter about your age either as it younger or older. As it can happen anytime. As this makes it clear that domestic violence can happen to anyone no matter about gender you are or more. However, the 2.56% responses who said No that domestic violence just doesn’t affect men as well. As they are trying to say it just affects women and children and not men or even young boys at all. This tells us that this 2.56% think may just be selected gender of how they think it affects more children and women unlike men. As they may keep it more hidden within themselves. As with the posters they may thought that only see women and children only getting abused of domestic violence but actually can happen to anyone. So the graph tells us most people are well known and taught that domestic violence can happen as it doesn’t matter what gender you are. As it may not appear that aware that men may suffer from domestic because it is such a low number as 4% of men suffer from against women which suffers of 8.2%. As it may seen more common within women and children.
  • 11. Did know that children exposed to domestic violence are more likely to become adult perpetrators themselves? This question tells me about my audience that they are aware that a child may become perpetrators when they adults when they have been exposed to domestic violence when they were younger. From looking at this graph it tells us that most people have decided to answer this question are wondering if they will become perpetrators when they are an adult or if they won’t become a perpetrators as an adult at all if they have been exposed domestic violence at young age in their life. By looking at the responses; Yes = 77.50% No = 22.50 % Looking at the people who have responded to the answered Yes to if they would think that a child who has experienced with domestic violence are likely to become an adult perpetrators themselves, as this gave a very high percentage of 77.50%. This tells me that most of audience thinks if they are exposed to domestic violence at such a young age they are more likely to do it someone else. As most children who have been exposed at such a young age and which it has stayed with them their whole lives. So this is why I would think this it has got such a high rating against the answer No. So they would be come perpetrators themselves. As the perpetrators who will get older may not think what is right or wrong. Of doing it to others that which they know that may be close to one another. Looking at the people who have responded to the answered No to that they don’t think that children who have been exposed to domestic violence won’t become a perpetrators themselves when they are older at all. Of about 9 people who answered this No shows that they don’t want to become perpetrators themselves as what they have been exposed to as a child.
  • 12. If you where the victim, where would you go to? This question tells me that about my audience of where they would got for a source of help to find a way out of domestic violence. Saying if you were a victim or if you weren’t a victim places you may got to help yourself out in this huge situation. Sources of help which I have listed are the following; Family = 58.54% Friends= 60.98% Women’s refugee = 21.95% Organisations = 21.95% Police = 51.22% Social service = 19.51% Church leader = 2.44% Other (please specify say) = 14.63% By looking at these different responses the most popular choices which the audience have selected from the different sources are; going towards their own family for help, going to friends for help or going to police to tackle it. These would have been said the best help plans for this type of cause if your going to either family or friends then you have got a close connection with them already and you can speak to either truthfully about stuff like this sort of matter. By looking at Police you would got here because they can tackle hard on to capture the abuser head on. Before the abuser does any other actions with anyone else that make risks to the public or others. Also by going to the Police for help they can findings faster and quicker to stop the abuse before it gets to far. Also the other help sources are also good because if your victim if you don’t want to talk to someone about the cause which has happened to you this is a good way to get heard. By going to following places; Women’s refugee, Organisations, Social service or Church leader.
  • 13. If you where the victim, where would you go to? By looking at places of where you can go for help but by specifically looking at Others (please specify say) was about 14.63%. From these responses that which I had got from this. Is a quite a range of results of what the audience have written here. For an example three people said that they couldn’t go anywhere to get help for domestic violence of what was happening to them. As this is a big disaster because one person said was trying to get help from their own family but they didn’t help with anything with them. As this shows we need to prove we need to bring more places of where they can go and contact other people who have been affected the same way. So this would be a good idea instead of keeping it all into themselves as they wouldn’t to talk about and get it out and get help of what to do. As they could go somewhere so they can be safe instead of hurt and go somewhere loving and caring. Also by looking at the other answers people have put are such as they got help from their family like their dad and also if working some where can get help from them. To help you get out of domestic violence.
