- 2. Now, lets look at the Wikipedia definition of Automation. Automation or automatic control, is the use of various control systems for operating equipment such as machinery, processes in factories, boilers and heat treating ovens, switching in telephone networks, steering and stabilization of ships, aircraft and other applications with minimal or reduced human intervention.
- 3. Well, all that technical stuff apart, what actually comes to our mind when we think “Automation”? Probably this---------------> And a bunch of more robotic stuff. But no!! Automation is a lot more!! In fact automation, which earlier existed in factories and labs alone, is now coming to our homes!

Automatic Control of home appliances- something we all have seen in sci-fi movies, Google’s latest self-driving car are true examples of automation The most commonly used arena of automation is one that many of us use often ->an ATM!! In fact, with PM Modi’s Digital Age of India vision, automation will be the keen thing within the next 5 years! Automated vending machines ,smart homes ,smart phone controlled appliances ->all these will become very common soon
- 5. Self driven and safer vehicles, air crafts, ships Less human intervention in dangerous and tedious/monotonous jobs. Easier life and lesser worries Lot of high end applications related to entertainment and other user end services will come up Automated surgeries, automated services for the disabled, automated defense and security systems
- 6. My interest in Automation lies in home automation systems ,self driving cars ,automated vending systems ,various sensors related to these and more. Given an opportunity, I would like to innovate and work on these applications.
