My Observations
Based on my interview, the teacher has met the requirements of the standards for
teachers because she rated herself as “Experienced” in all the strands of NCBTS. Since she
put “Experienced”, meaning she is above capable in teaching effectively. NCBTS strands
spell out what should a teacher be and what a teacher is capable to do.
If NCBTS is the measure of a global teacher, the teacher I interviewed can met the
challenges of global education since she has all the essential things needed to teach
effectively and meaningfully which are patterned from the national standards for teacher.
Yes there similarities as well as differences among teachers in other countries in
terms of standard requirements of a professional teacher since every country has its own
needs in providing quality education. Simply means that, just like learners, no two
individuals are exactly the same, countries also differ. However, the standard requirements
of each country are almost the same.
Yes, the Filipino teachers are comparable to their fellow teachers in other countries
simply because what is taught in other countries is also being taught in the Philippines. I
also believe so because our educational system here benchmarked on national standards
and thus produces future globally competent teachers. Teachers in other countries are
technology-oriented much more our teachers here in the Philippines. In fact, it is believed
that Filipino teachers are better than foreign teachers since there are many Filipino teachers
teaching in other countries. Moreover, Filipino teachers and imbued with competencies
and consistently undergo seminars and trainings which update their knowledge of teaching.

My Reflections
Ten years from now, I see myself teaching English subjects in a high school
applying the things I learned in college. I am already capable of molding the world for
betterment. I can compete and surpass the abilities of other teachers around the world. That
time, I believe I am meeting the challenges of a global teacher with the knowledge gained
from my expert teachers and mentors. I believe I have already produced globally competent
graduates geared with lifelong lessons and knowledge and ready to face challenging
situations. Aside from that, I am already a Master’s degree holder armed with indispensable
knowledge in English.

My Future Application
I will be able to prepare myself to become a global teacher by listening to my
teachers’ pieces of advice, studying hard, praying to God, passing the exams, and living
and committing myself to teaching. A global teacher is equipped with all areas of concerns
important to teaching effectively. I will be a global teacher through engaging myself
through various seminars and trainings related to my field of specialization. I will dedicate
my life to teaching and do all ways and means to become a globally competent teacher. I
will follow the relevant laws for teachers, abide with them and live with them. I will make
sure that I am a fully-baked graduate with the help of my teachers.
