3 1. The student learning should be centered on basic subjects such as reading, writing,
history, math and science.
3 2. The school subjects should focus on the great thinkers of the past.

4 5. Subject matter is taught effectively when it is broken down into small parts.

Among the three of us, the essentialist is T1, the perennialist is T1, the
progressivist is me and the behaviorist is T1.

My Observations
The teacher addresses students’ needs through engaging them into activities which
are beneficial on the part of the students. Her main focus is on how the learners go on with
the educative process making sure that her students are at the center of teaching-learning
process. She is able to relate the theories applied in Physics into students’ personal lives
and experiences.
The teachers made sure that the environment is free from threats and that students
feel they are free to move and act along. Along the discussion, there are times that the
teacher uses reinforcements to get the desired responses from the students.

My Reflections
The philosophy of education is very important in my future career as a teacher
because through it, I will be guided on how and why to act accordingly in a situation. I will
know what philosophy I will adhere to and it can be my way to better understand the way
of such philosophy and could apply it to my field of specialization. Thus, it is very
important to understand it. My experiences and observations are of great contribution to
my becoming a teacher since those are my guiding stars to be better individual and effective
teacher.

My Affirmed Concepts

My Future Application
Using the first hand experiences in this activity, how will I use these when I
become a teacher in the future?
a. In teaching and learning, I would see to it that my student are my first priority and
that they may learn something new from me. I’d make them holistic individuals
ready and are equipped with the competencies to face real-life experiences.
b. In addressing diversity of learners, I would gather information on the learning
styles, multiple intelligences and needs of learners so that I can treat them fairly
and equally. As much as possible, I will have a survey with their multi-cultural
backgrounds in order to demonstrate concern for holistic development of learners.
c. In creating a conducive learning environment, I will set good ambiance for my
learners to have better learning. I will promote an environment that is fair and free
from threats. I will accept ideas coming from my students so that they may not feel
discouraged and disturbed.
