• Websites and applications that
enable users to create and
share content or to participate in
social networking.
• A way to communicate in real time
• Create and share content

• There are 2.3 billion active social media users across the world
• Internet users have an average of 5.54 social media accounts
• Social media users have risen by 176 million in the last year
• There are 12 new active mobile social users every day
Why social media is important for

• Even if you’re not on social media, your customers are

Setting up a Facebook
Page
Give it a thumbs up!

• Log into your personal Facebook
account
• From anywhere in Facebook you
can click on the little arrow symbol
in the top menu bar and choose
Create Page

• Choose a category that best
describes the type of page
you want to create
• It’ll most likely be local business
• When you click on a tile it flips
to give you a form to fill in
• When you’re ready, click Get
Started

page
• Create a profile picture
• Use something recognisable
like your logo
• Put in a link to your website,
business address, opening
hours, contact details, etc
• Start sharing!

click Sign up

• Choose some initial accounts to follow
• Write a bio
• Choose a profile picture
• Again, this will probably be your logo
• Start tweeting!
