○ 20% rule: Only 20% should be “self promotional”
○ That’s 1 in 5.
○ LESS on blogs: (Use subliminal & passive promotion)
● Make sure profile / content, and contest matches business.
if you wouldn’t do it offline, don’t do it online
● Strategize, plan, & be consistent

● With a portion of “journal” style content

● Help people. We want to give them direction!
● Makes Google like you.
AKA: Helps people find you on Google
● Establishes you as a thought-leader & expert
● Produces leads
● Expands network
● Creates Platform & content for communication

○ Social Media, Inbound Marketing, etc
● You OWN it (content, traffic, ad. revenue)

LET’S GET WRITING
1. Define your audience
2. Write down the PROBLEMS / Pain points they have?
This becomes your topics
3. Pick 1 topic to begin with
4. Research:
a. Google it - see what is common
b. Find 2 good quality websites / articles that discuss a similar topic
5. WRITE. Sit down. Remove Distractions (see Tools Next Slide)
a. Get all your thoughts out. Be as long-winded as possible.
b. Make it EASY to read.
i. Titles & Subtitles
ii. Bullets & Numbers

Rewrite 3x1) Rewrite for READABILITY - outloud
2) Rewrite for Conciseness & POWER. You are the authority.

b) Use less transitions.
NO: buts, ifs, maybes, i think’s, I believe’s, Write with Strength
c) Use good synonyms
3) Read backwards for spelling
4) Keywords - Pick 3.
a) Those need to appear at least 4 times
5) Cross-promote (internally & externally)
