GOOGLE DRIVE

To get started..

Open your Google Chrome
browser

This is your opened web
browser

Locate and click Sign In

If you don’t have a Google
account

Click create account

Then you will be directed to this

Fill it up with the
necessary information

then follow the
instructions.

But if you have, enter your email
here

Then click Next

Type in your Password

Then click Sign in

Locate the Grid

Click this icon

Then click Drive

Welcome to your Google Drive

Click the x botton

Lets upload file to your
Google Drive

Click the New button

Then click the File upload

Or folder upload

Your files from your personal
computer will appear

Click your selected file

Then click Open

Another way to upload a
file

Click your computer’s folder

Choose a file

Click, Hold and Drag the file

Then drop it inside the Google
Drive

How to create Google
Documents

Into your Google Drive,

Click New button

A drop down box will appear

Then select the file you want to
create

Google docs is similar to
Microsoft Word

Google sheets is similar to
Microsoft Excel

Google slides is similar to
Microsoft PowerPoint

For this example, we will
create word document

Click Google Docs

Your file will appear in a new tab in
your browser

This is now where you will work
on

Click the Untitled Document

Type here your file name

When you’re done, Press Enter

Note: it is important to
name a document as
soon as you open it up.

Because you might have
a bunch of..

untitled documents and
might become confusing
later on

You can now start typing here

It works same like Microsoft
Word

Its has the same formatting
options

Note: there is No Save
command.

That is because it is
saved automatically as
you work on.

How to share a document

Click the share button

Enter the Email address here

Click this which type of
permission you want

Choose from these permissions

Add a note if you want

Then click Send

A notification will appear here

Other features of the
Google Drive

when you click one of your files

For example this one

It becomes highlighted and..

At the same time, some features
appear

To send a Link of your document
click this

Then the link will appear

To Share your document
directly from My Drive

Click this..

To Preview your document, click
this.

To Delete your document click
this.

Then it will go to Trash

Note: documents in the
trash will be removed
after 30 days

Click on the More actions drop
down

To give you a few more options

You can Move your document to
a different folder

You can Star your document

Then it will go to Starred

You can Rename your document

Type in the new name of your
document

Then click OK

You can View the details of your
document

It will show the activity made on
the document

You can Make a Copy of your
document

Copy has been made

You can Download document

Download ongoing

To change the appearance of
your Drive, click List view

From this…

To this.

To organize your documents,
click Sort options

Choose on the following options

How to Convert your
documents

to start of, change the
view of My Drive to List
View

Like this..

Lets say you have a file in
your computer,

that it is Microsoft word
format

and you want to upload it
in Google drive.

Click your computer’s folder

Select, Hold and Drag the document

Then Drop in My drive

Uploading done

The W letter means that the
document is in Word Format

When you double click to
open the document..

It will open up a preview of the
document

You can’t edit this one

Let’s say you want to edit
this document

Right click the document

Then an option box will open

Go to open with

Then click Google Docs

It opens up in a new tab

And notice that it takes
up seconds to load.

Because it is actually
converting it to a Google
docs format

Now you can edit your
document

Going back to your Drive
list

You will notice I have a second
Google drive intro document

It is because, we uploaded this
from a Word format.

And when we opened it up in
Google drive..

It converted it and created a
whole new document

Take a look at the difference of
these symbols

This symbol means the
document is in Word Format

and this symbol means it is in
Google Drive Format

Lets say you’ve done
editing

And you want to return it
in Word format

Right click the document

Then Click Download

It says here Converting to Word

This is now a word format
document

Note: all the process that
I have done with word

can be applied with Excel
and PowerPoint.

How to create your own
Form in Google Drive

Click New

Click More

Then click Google Forms

New tab will open

Click here to put a Title

Type here your Title

Then click OK

Your title will also appear here

Put Description of your form
here

Type in your Question here

Add a Help Text is optional

Click this for the question type

An option box will appear

For this example, I choose Text

After that, it will look like this

Click this if it is a required
question

Then click Done

To add another question click
Add Item

Follow the same process

I have created 3 questions

Hover your mouse to the
question to see this

Click the Pencil to edit the
question

Click the Trash Bin to delete the
question

How to put a design to
your Form

Click Change Theme

A window will open at the right
side of your screen

Scroll down to see different
designs

After you click your desired
theme..

A preview will show

Click this to view a bigger
picture

A new tab will open

It will show you the total
appearance of your form

How to Send your Form

At the upper right of your screen

Click Send Form

A dialog Box will appear

Type here the Email of the
recipient

Then click Done

You can also send your
Form to Facebook!

Click Send Form

A dialog Box will appear

Click the Facebook Icon

You will be directed to your
Facebook

Click Share Link

YeHey! Your Done!

So that is the basics of
Google Drive
