This document summarizes a research paper on custom power devices used for power quality improvement. It discusses various power quality issues at distribution levels and introduces different types of custom power devices classified as network reconfiguring devices and compensating devices. Network reconfiguring devices include solid state current limiters, static transfer switches, solid state breakers, and uninterruptible power supplies. Compensating devices include distribution static compensators (DSTATCOM), dynamic voltage restorers (DVR), and unified power quality compensators (UPQC). Their applications, working principles, and simulation results are briefly explained through diagrams and tables. The paper concludes that custom power devices provide effective solutions for various power quality disturbances at distribution levels.
