How does the resume “sell” you?
The resume represents the initial application for
a co-op job! The information you provide is
supposed to meet their requirements (i.e., a high
school diploma).
Providing availability for a fall 2015 or spring
2016 co-op work term is important
CEAS students MUST complete five co-op terms
Interviewing
Part One
Interviewing
• Design outfit and accessories to enable an
effective. slapstick performance, by use of relevant
props and materials
• Arrive at established “show” area and perform as
per the hiring agent's expectations
• Establish word-of-mouth advertising in the local
area to encourage further future bookings
• Manage schedule of ongoing work
• Be punctual, entertaining and approachable
• Manage administrative functions of the “sole-
trader” business
Responsibilities
• Understanding of audience expectations for
performance quality and authenticity
• Understanding of marketing or advertising
techniques, at least on a local basis, to increase
bookings and revenue
• Be able to design, procure and implement clothing
and accessories to enable effective live performance
• Ability to speak in public without trepidation
• Ability to handle changing audience expectations,
especially where children are concerned
• Be able to appreciably handle health and safety
requirements during the show, for the safety and
enjoyment of all

Four common types of interviews

• Case / situational (How would you…What would
you do?)
• Resume-based (You mentioned on your
resume…)

Co-op Referral Process
• For students not in ME/MET: Have you met with your co-op
advisor or received information on the job search process?
• For ME and MET students: This class is your on-going job meeting
• Students identify a set number of preferences in the PAL system
(ME/MET: 20-30 Companies by noon Friday, February 13)
• Your co-op advisor will “approve” and “post documents” to
the companies
• Companies will contact you based on their HR protocols for
an interview
• We do not provide the contact information for company
co-op coordinators
