The rights to the CAL are non-perpetual and expire when the underlying subscription rights expire. • Pay attention to not confuse licensing model with deployment model – customer could “buy” an Office 365 subscription but deploy on premise • Often you can see SP and Partner offering an “Office 365” solution but in reality they are implementing a dedicated Lync 2013 infrastructure with related costs, management overhead and limits.
