- 4. Important attributes or characteristics: Rhode Island charter separated church and state. Massachusetts had the Mayflower compact. New England inhabited the colonies of Rhode Island.

- 7. Important attributes or characteristics: The Dutch set up New York. Many Quakers settled in Pennsylvania. There was a charter in New Jersey that protected the right to vote on local matters and freedom of religion.

- 10. Important attributes or characteristics: South Carolina had a lot of farm land. The first successful English colony was Virginia. Maryland was a safe refuge for Catholics.
- 11. Triangular trade: The triangular trade affected the colonies in several ways. One way they were affected was by money. They made more money by trading raw material with Europe for slaves, which gave them more workers to produce stuff.
- 12. Great Awakening: The Great Awakening affected the colonies in many ways such as making religion more important and personal to the colonists.
- 13. Enlightenment thinking on the development of the colonial governments: The colonies rethought the ideas of governments. They rethought the rights that the government should have and how a democracy should work.
