SMART Students are also aided in setting goals that are SMART, that is, goals that are: S pecific  rather than general  (Such as: “I want above a 3.0 GPA”).   M easurable  by the types of classes taken, or grades, or attendance. A chievable  or realistic for their age. R ewarding  or positive, rather than negative, and fun to achieve. T ime-oriented  and able to be finished by the end of the school year.

PORTFOLIO CONTENTS WORK SAMPLES  – represent evidence of learning, students can reflect on progress NAVIGATION WORK  – including Academic Inventories, Annual Goals, High School & Beyond Plan worksheets COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT  – information on activities, community service, jobs, awards
PORTFOLIO REFLECTION Ask students to reflect on their work sample entries Level of effort (on a scale of 1 to 5) Overall quality (on a scale of 1 to 5) Why did you choose this work sample? What did you learn from this assignment? What did you do well in this assignment? In the future, how will this work sample help you?
